Nestled between mountain peaks on the shore of Emerald Bay, this historic hotel is just a 3 minute walk to Waterton town centre. This is the only hotel in Waterton Townsite that is open all year round. There are 23 unique guest rooms, each decorated with antique furniture and feather quilt covered beds. The hotel provides a library, lounge, gift shop, patio cafe and a restuarant.
This historic lodge was one of the original buildings in the townsite. The furnishing style reflects a decor reminiscent of a country inn with antique furnishings and a down comforter on the bed. The library lobby, complete with comfortable couch and fieldstone fireplace, welcomes guests to relax with a good book. The Lamp Post Dining room is a very pleasant place to have lunch or dinner, and you can enjoy a cocktail in the Ram's Head Lounge. In the summer months, the casual Gazebo Cafe overlooks beautiful Emerald Bay.
For nature lovers, Waterton Park's wide variety of habitats is a haven for an astonishing number of plants and wildflowers. Due to the "Prairies to Peaks" environment in the park, plants that live in prairies and all the way to the peaks of the mountains, live in the park, about 1400 varieties. "Beargrass" is unique to this area, and the Pygmy Poppy has been found in Canada in Waterton Park only. Amongst these plants are over 250 species of birds. Positioned on the axis of two major migratory corridors, Waterton Park is a bird watchers paradise!
