Restaurants
Café
Lumskebugten
Esplanaden 21
This restaurant serves traditional Danish
cuisine and was established in 1854 as a tavern for sailors.
The reputation grew and has since served aristocrats and members
of the Danish royal family. The service in this restaurant
is excellent with menu specialities such as Danish fish cakes
with mustard sauce. At lunchtime, a Danish platter of house
specialities can be sampled and is considered by many as a
meal in itself.
Restaurant Havfruen
Nyhavn 39
This is a small and very busy nautically
themed restaurant with an excellent reputation for fish. The
lunch menu is less expensive than the evening menu with an
emphasis on salmon and shellfish, during the evening the menu
is more sophisticated with platters of fresh fish.
Passagens Spisehus
Vesterbrogade 42
Vesterbro
This Nordic restaurant is one of the best restaurants in town,
serving a variety of game. Specialities include, ox from Alaska
and Reindeer from Lapland. The wine list offers incredibly
good value for money and the service is faultless.
TyvenKokkenHansKoneog-HendesElsker
Magstræde 16
Disturbingly named after Peter Greenaway's
cannibalistic The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover,
this restaurant is located in a converted 18th century townhouse
near Rådhuspladsen. Menus change on a weekly basis and
diners are offered one fixed menu with a choice of the number
of courses. Advanced booking is advised.

Shopping
Copenhagen is a great city for shopping,
with everything within walking distance.
Strøget is a pedestrian street lined with brand name
shops and department stores. The Kgs. Nytorv end of the Strøget
is home to the designer shops with names such as Chanel and
Prada offering international design. Just off of the Strøget
are the narrow streets around Grønnegade, offering
shoe shops, fashion shops and boutiques.
The harbour end of the city is home to furniture and antiques
and if you are looking for a shopping centre, City 2, Lyngby
Storcenter and the Amamger Centret are worth a visit.
