The Hotel zur Post is a real find - a family run hotel that has been recently refurbished to a very high standard. The minute you walk into the hallway you'll notice the eye for detail the designers of this property had, from the sheer Brazilian granite flooring, to the fine stained glass artistry and light wood reception area. Everything is bright and airy, giving a sense of calm and peace.

Rooms are spacious and individually furnished with modern furniture, chic italian pieces and precious heirlooms, which together create a tasteful mix of comfort and style. All have en suite bath or shower, and wc, together with television featuring satellite channels including the premiere movie channel plus English, French, German, Italian and Spanish channels, radio, modem connection , telephone, safe and hairdryer. The hotel is made up of 3 buildings, one of which (Haus Renate) is set back behind the other two, making it an even quieter place for a good night's sleep. Most rooms are overlooking peaceful gardens. The hotel is very family friendly, and offers rooms with 3 or 4 beds suitable for those travelling with children.

An extensive buffet breakfast is included in the price and offered in the bright and airy breakfast room. The hotel is located in the quiet and friendly area of Maxglan, only a 20 minute walk along the high street, through the Neutor into the Old Town of Salzburg. Alternatively you can take the number 1 bus, which runs very frequently and stops just outside the hotel's front door. Ask for reduced-price bus tickets at reception. The Hotel zur Post is only a 5 minute taxi ride or 10 minute bus ride from Salzburg airport. The hotel offers free outdoor parking and garage spaces are available for a small charge. You can even rent bicycles from here, to explore the area at your leisure, from €9 per day. The hotel also books and sells concert tickets, sightseeing tours, tickets for the Mozart music dinner, the Salzburg Card (free single admission to all the city's attractions and free use of public transport throughout the city, incl. fortress funicular and panorama boat).
