Built in 2000 the Lope De Vega is a modern hotel but as it's located in the historical district of Madrid, near the Plaza Del Sol, it's in a great position for guests wishing to explore Madrid’s sights. Immediately outside the hotel is one of the city’s best streets for restaurants and cafes.
Each of the 59 guest rooms is themed and identified from outside by a person’s name, a play or a historic place from 17th Century. The standard throughout is high and there is a good level of facilities such as high-speed internet, safe and a proper hair-dryer.
The coffee room next to the reception is open all day for snacks but breakfast is available in a separate room. The hotel offers various different prices for breakfast so, if you just want a coffee, you pay much less than if you opt for the full buffet. You may well find yourself tempted by the large selection of cakes.
The Lope De Vega doesn’t offer anything in terms of leisure facilities apart from a small lounge and library. For business people there’s an internet corner with a nominal charge.
If you’re looking for a good small 4-star in the central Madrid and you’re not too worried about facilities, the Lope De Vega is a perfect choice.
NB. All rooms have en suite facilities.
