Built in 1973 and offering an astonishing view over the Atlantic Ocean and a service with tradition, Gorgulho Apartments are located just 100m from Funchals famous Lido Pools above the sea promenade. Accommodation is composed of comfortable, simply furnished studio apartments, some with kitchenette and some with separate kitchen (with supplement). The hotel offers a restaurant with ‘buffet’ and table dhote service, swimming pool and a tennis court.

With a total of 115 rooms, all have sea view or side sea view, and are equipped with private bathroom with shower and bath, direct dial telephone, safe (payable locally), cable TV and private furnished balcony. Every kitchen or kitchenette is equipped with refrigerator, electric cooker, pans, china, glassware and cutlery.

Circular outdoor swimming pool and separate children’s pool with ample space round the pools to sunbathe on the complimentary sunbeds and solarium with sundeck chairs and parasols. The hotel has developed partnerships with local clubs to provide instruction and participation in several sports such as golf, snorkelling, sailing, windsurfing, sea-kayaking, hill-climbing, trekking, mountain-biking, para-gliding, delta-gliding, tourism-flights and model-flying.
