This historic house was once a grand shooting lodge built for the first Earl of Lovelace. Situated on the shores of Loch Torridon, this Country House Hotel enjoys one of the most impressive coastal locations in the Scottish Highlands. Ullapool is approximately 1.5 hours away by car, making this a great place to stay and explore the stunning scenery of this part of Scotland. Though seemingly isolated in the remoteness of the western highlands of Scotland, the hotel is in fact easily reached within a few hours from Edinburgh and Glasgow. Activities can be organised such as abseiling, archery, fly fishing and clay pigeon shooting.
Log fires, handsome plasterwork ceilings, mounted stag heads, and traditional furnishings set the mood downstairs, and bedrooms are decorated in restrained pastel shades with antique mahogany furniture. The four-course dinner can include seafood, beef, lamb, and game, and the cellar has many fine wines.
Due to anti-smoking laws this hotel operates a strict no smoking policy.
