[hidden] is located in Frederiksstaden in the heart of Copenhagen, one of the nicest parts of the city. This historical building is one of the oldest hotels in the city. It was originally built as a bohemian meeting place, but these days it is more practical than artsy and welcomes business guests, tourists, and tour groups.

The lobby area itself is small, adjoining a beautiful library and seating area. The hotel is then built in an atrium fashion around two smaller courtyards.

Many rooms face an interior covered courtyard. Next door is the restaurant Gendarmen, run by a group of young restaurateurs who have created a dinner menu that weds traditional Danish dishes (roast pork or cod) with nouveau touches, such as a light truffle or blueberry sauce.
