The hotel is located under Gellert Hill on the Buda side of the banks of Danube. This is a very famous area with plenty to do and see nearby. The hotel is particularly famous for its spa baths and thermal facilities. They are among the most famous in Hungary. In summer the outdoor baths with sun bathing area and wave machines prove extremely popular with locals. The interior of the baths is very much like a Sanatorium, however well worth visiting. This is a stunning building and is justifiably seen as a historical landmark in the city. Overlooking the Danube river the smooth white stone facade is grand in appearance and has a beautiful art deco entrance. The lobby is medium in size and much as it would have been several decades ago with its wood reception desk and antique furniture. Whilst it may look a little tired it is a throwback to the old Hungary. The restaurants are located on the ground floor and serve top quality cuisine. There is a traditional cafe which is very popular. The rooms of the hotel vary considerably in shape, size, decoration, furnishings and style. All rooms are traditional and clean, some have new carpeting. There are three main styles of bathrooms. The oldest have floral tiles and archaic plumbing. The intermediate have 70's green tiling with old plumbing. The newest are tiled in white. 10 km to the nearest fair site (bnv), 10 minute walk to the nearest metro station (kalvin square), 2 minute walk to the nearest bus stop, 20 kms to the nearest airport (ferihegy), 3 kms to city centre, 4 km to the nearest station (deli railway station).
