Historically, Château d'Amboise is one of the most important of the great Loire châteaux. It was the home of kings, visited by Catherine de Medici and said to be the burial place of Leonardo da Vinci. Le Choiseul is a charming and friendly hotel with a family atmosphere. Located on the outskirts of the town of Amboise, the hotel is the perfect base from which to discover the many Loire chateaux including the Châteaux of Chenonceaux, Chaumont, Loches, and Blois.

The beautiful Château de Chenonceau that spans the River Cher is just seven miles away, Château de Chaumont, overlooking the river Loire is within 15 minutes of the hotel, while Château de Blois with its diverse architectural styles, is a 30-minute drive. Numerous other chateaux are within easy access including Château de Chambord, Château of Cheverny and Château de Willandry.
