Steeped in history the house originally belonged to George Hicks, a Colonel in the Bengal Army and Grandfather of the famous actor-writer Sir Seymour Hicks, who built London's Globe Theatre. The hotel is set across 3 floors with a distinctive white presence. The hotel is set on the beach's promenade offering fantastic views across the bay.

Fresh local fish and seafood feature prominently in menus that are imaginative as well as mouthwatering, but you'll also find such succulent delicacies as Gressingham Duck and Aberdeen Angus beef.

The hotel serves such traditional dishes as deep-fried fish and chips, and much of the exquisite food is prepared by the chef and his team, with delicate spices that add a subtle twist to the dishes.
The lobby is of a medium size and provides a bright welcoming atmosphere to guests.
